Water Saving Tip #3 Less light, less water

You can sure tell the days are getting shorter, here come the fall colors. This is really my
Pleasant Valley Nevada, 2013
favorite time of the year. Our landscapes are heading into that all important time of dormancy which means you can reduce the amount of water you give them without hurting them. The cooler days and less light means less water needs.

Starting October 6th I will be removing the one day from my three day schedule. I now water Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Friday will be turned off.
Once the night time temperatures stay below 40 degrees it is time to shut off your system and get winter watering tools set up.
I will cover winter watering in the high desert in my next blog posting.
