Water Saving Tip #2 Use Mother Nature

I was thrilled to see that we are set to get some much needed moisture here in the parched high desert. This will not cure the drought, however it will surely help get the landscapes nice and wet.
Many gardeners may be attentive to weather, but I bet some forget you can turn your system off durning the rainy days. For those who don't manage there system, there is a on/off switch. Turn it to the off position, it will not do anything to the settings. Once the rains have stopped and your landscape is ready for more water turn it back on. Image all the water you will be saving!

I put a note on my fridge to remind me that I have my system in the off position.  I will turn it back on when needed.

The other great thing about rain is the moisture in the air. Plants can and will use that moisture to keep them comfortable.

So turn off those systems off while the rain does its job and gets the soil nice and wet.
