Watering Tip #6 Watering Holiday and Indoor Plants

4 to 5 cubes works perfectly in this small size
Now that I moved my house plants and root cuttings inside healthy watering habits are a must.

Keeping soil from drying out can be a challenge here in the high desert. I find that putting ice cubes on the top of the soil weekly keeps them just right.

Other helpful hints:

  • Add worm tea or other organic nutrients to the water before freezing, do this bimonthly
  • Keep ice cubes away from the stems of the plant
  • Apply lots of hand lotion to keep the cube from sticking to your hands, or use dish gloves
  • Use a humidifier monthly in the dry months
