Now that I moved my house plants and root cuttings inside healthy watering habits are a must.
Keeping soil from drying out can be a challenge here in the high desert. I find that putting ice cubes on the top of the soil weekly keeps them just right.

Other helpful hints:
- Add worm tea or other organic nutrients to the water before freezing, do this bimonthly
- Keep ice cubes away from the stems of the plant
- Apply lots of hand lotion to keep the cube from sticking to your hands, or use dish gloves
- Use a humidifier monthly in the dry months
