Here Comes Autumn

I am very happy to have made it to August, the days are shorter and more importantly cooler. Now is a great time to walk your gardens/landscapes and see if anything needs to be repaired or changed. Maybe the plant is to big for the area, or not preforming due to incorrect light, no matter the reason now is the time to get these garden tasks done.

I have decided to replace my day lilies with Veronica Border Blue. Not only will these perennials bloom longer, Veronica are repeat bloomers. The day lilies have moved to my neighbors yard.

Make sure to use some amendment and worm castings to make sure your new plants have some nutrients to ensure success. I love Kellogg's Amend, it is organic and is priced great at the box stores.

Let me know if you have any questions, or comments are we head into my favorite time of the year. Happy gardening!
