Oriental Poppy Care

I have covered dead heading your perennials, so today I would like to cover what to do with those perennials that are done blooming and are looking a bit sad.
One of my favorite perennials is the Oriental poppy, it is a reliable bloomer and easy to care for. They are so beautiful when blooming, but not so much when they are done.
Done blooming
In full bloom

Cut them back, way back. What will happen is they will grow new leaves and look nice and healthy, just not bloom. Here are mine that I took care of today, I also cut back on the water.
So, get out there and cut back the dried and spent blooms it will look so nice and your plants will be happy!

Pruned back, they will grow more lovely leaves and look great!
