Winter Plant Care, removing snow

Don't let your plant stay this way
There is nothing more welcome to the high desert than moisture. Early winter snows like the one we are enjoyed 11-2-2015 will hopefully start what will be a wet winter.
However, many plants are still full of leaves and the weight of the wet snow can cause a problem with broken branches.
Removing snow once it stops will keep them from breakage and freezing issues.

Here is all you need to do.
Once the snow slows down head outside and dust off your plants. The larger plants can be brushed off with a broom while the small perennials only need a duster to removed snow. The key is to be gentle, you don't want to hit is so hard you cut into the bark.

Smaller shrubs and perennials  that may still be in bloom will benefit with a quick cleaning too. Here is where I use a duster, it is more gentle.
