Lawn Care in the High Desert, The Last Mow

November 22 2015
Now that we are days away from December 1st, I have moved my lawn for the last time this season. One of the things I did was to lower my mower to get a nice short lawn, helping keep snow mold from taking hold.
All indications are that my high desert garden will be getting more rain and snow. By mowing the lawn shorter the blades should not bend creating a place for mold to form.

This photo shows the length of the lawn during the spring and summer. Starting in fall I gradually lower my mower blade getting a short blade, about 1 inch tall.

This photo was taken today, just after I drained my mower, cleaned the under carriage and put it away for the winter.
