These bulbs need a cold chill to produce good blooms, this is why we plant in the fall for spring blooming. They will bloom at different times, starting with crocus and ending with late blooming tulips.
I start my planting Thanksgiving weekend if weather allows. If there is a storm pending, I will wait a week, then stagger my planting starting in a few keys areas.
Planting in containers 2 weeks later is a great way to have blooms longer once spring arrives.
Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions regarding bulbs, and the planting of bulbs.
